artist statement

I draw inspiration from my life in Florida, working in watercolor, miniatures and dioramas.  The swathes of bright colors in my abstract paintings do not touch, creating hard-edged negative spaces that become an integral part of each artwork.  The sun, moon and stars are often depicted in my works, as are quotes that help me get through the day.  I build whimsical pieces in my signature style, expressing the joys and sorrows found in living.

siness into that other photographic world, portraiture. After years of doing portraits for friends and family, she's finally putting her whole degree to good use. She can photograph families, graduating Seniors, children, babies, and even pets. Her studio is mobile and all photos are taken on location at your home, favorite yard or park. See the calendar section of the website to book your date and time. Keep in mind that it's best to take photos outdoors in the early morning or late afternoon. After you book a date, Diane will call you for your complimentary consultation.

Maybe you just want Diane to photograph a location that's dear to your heart. She'd be happy to! In fact, driving out to photograph new places is high on her list of favorite things to do.

In the cooler months Diane can often be found participating at outdoor fine art festivals throughout the south. Did you know Diane still shoots film? Hard to believe, but it's true. She uses slide film and polaroids to create her fine art pieces. A list of her fall/winter festivals is coming soon. In the mean time, browse her online ordering system to purchase prints of any of the photographs seen on the website's pages.

There isn't much Diane can't photograph. She believes a photographic challenge is just a chance to get creative. However, Diane does not do weddings. She would love to photograph your engagement or anniversary, and she would love to be invited to the wedding to shoot candids, but she does not love the stress of 'the big day' and humbly declines requests for wedding day sessions.
